What We are About:
Acts 1:3 After his suffering, he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive.
After Jesus had been crucified, dead and buried, He had an important mission that He took 40 days to complete – He had to convince His men that He was alive. Then, He commissioned His men to go and convince everyone in Jerusalem that He was alive – now mind you this is the very city in which He had been killed 43 days before. Next, they were to go to all Judea and Samaria and then to every nation on earth – every tribe and tongue to convince the whole earth that He was alive. The book of Acts traces their obedience as to how they gave this evidence to every man, woman, and child from Jerusalem to Rome that Jesus was alive. Many believed and chose to follow Him. Thus, the church was born.
The plan has not been rescinded or amended. We are still to give convincing proofs that Jesus is alive. We are to start where we are, then draw a bigger circle for which we are responsible, and then our third sphere is the whole earth (or maybe a significant region beyond where we are. What Switzerland Community Church is about is giving convincing proofs that Jesus is alive in the 32259, the 32092, the 32223 zip codes, then the zips beyond and finally to touch the nations with these same proofs.
We are looking to convince every person – street by street, office by office, classroom by classroom, ball field by ball field, family by family, city by city, nation by nation that Jesus is alive. He was crucified on a Friday for the sins of the world. He was buried and raised on Sunday morning. And He lives in His Body, the Church today. When any people anywhere are convinced and then set out to convince others, He said, “I will be with you and help you to give those proofs.” If you are not convinced, then please give me a call … and if you are convinced, then please give me a call.
