I wanted to take a moment and ask you to join us for something very important. We will be praying over all of our schools here in St. Johns County this next Sunday the 13th. The unique thing about this prayer is that it will not just take place in our church on Sunday morning, but rather, it will take place on each of the school campuses.
Many of you are new to our church, but many of you are also new to our county. A lot of people move to this area because of the reputation of our public schools. What you will not see as you research “best places to live for children” on google, is the relationship that has existed in this county between the faith based community and the public school system. One of the unspoken causes for the greatness of the St. Johns County public school system is that the churches in our area are not passive, but active in prayer for our schools each year. As the school year begins, congregations all over the county make it a priority to go to each campus to pray for the students, teachers, administration, and district leadership. This Sunday is the day we take this on. Please make it a priority in your calendar.
What are we asking from you? Simply, sacrifice your time to be there. Start with the concept of planning to go to the schools where your students attend. If you do not have children, would you join us as a church family for the sake of the community? Plan to attend one or all of them (maybe just the closest one/ones to your house). All elementary schools will meet at 2pm, all middle schools at 3pm, and all high schools will meet at 4pm. Let’s plan to rise up as the body of Christ in supplication for our community.
I look forward to worshiping with you this weekend.
